Playa Malvín's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Roch Frankowski ran over to the corner to take the kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stelian Murgu in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ünal Başar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Peter Wright fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nils Elmhuus having to interfere. In the 22nd minute Sandu Mândrilă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ünal Başar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ünal Başar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stelian Murgu in the 24th minute of play. Gong Qi Fan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ünal Başar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Ma could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Nils Elmhuus made a huge save. In the 28th minute, Joel Wigghers ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ünal Başar was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a rather tough play, Playa Malvín's Michael Guisla got a free kick in the 30th minute. Ünal Başar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stelian Murgu in the 34th minute of the match. Playa Malvín's Nils Elmhuus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roch Frankowski in the 37th minute of play. After some careless play in the Playa Malvín defense, Peter Wright kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nils Elmhuus. The Playa Malvín fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nils Elmhuus should have stopped the shot. 42 minutes into the match, Stelian Murgu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ünal Başar. Bada Bing Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stelian Murgu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. With an all-out effort, Bada Bing Club's Nils Elmhuus threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Peter Wright, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 48th minute Bada Bing Club were awarded a corner. Roch Frankowski went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Carlo Domenici heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stelian Murgu to make the kick off.
