The audience thought a goal was coming when Curcio Carballeira got free with Maurino Serena in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 17 minutes into the match, Belo Alvarez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jairo Castellano. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 26th minute Erlantz Bermejo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jairo Castellano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Curcio Carballeira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Maurino Serena having to make a save. In the 33rd minute Curcio Carballeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurino Serena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
