With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristobal Goito prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Efraim Gilabert lost his temper 8 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 7th minute, one of Peru:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Peru. Andreas Möller could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. A nice corner shot did that Gustaw Ludzia got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rolando Noboa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 16 played minutes Carabata Groove got a freekick which was hit by Alberto-Federico Acosta. Cristobal Goito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 19th minute of play. 19 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Peru's Luz Tejedor fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. In the 21st match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Milagros Fraga to maneuver through the defense. Cristobal Goito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luz Tejedor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute Luz Tejedor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristobal Goito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, Carabata Groove's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Mina came free, but Cristobal Goito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristobal Goito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 33rd minute of play. Luz Tejedor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristobal Goito having to interfere. In the 44th match minute, Carabata Groove was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hermengildo Bazkoare to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Carabata Groove made a substitution. Hauk Hareide replaced Andreas Möller. Carabata Groove's Armin Atroce was substituted for Eduardo Domeka. The wind increased when Luz Tejedor made the kick off in the second half. After 57 minutes of play, Carabata Groove's Hauk Hareide made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rolando Noboa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Milagros Fraga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Cristobal Goito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 61st minute, Alonso Berganza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 65th minute, Carabata Groove's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Luz Tejedor fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. With an all-out effort, Peru's Cristobal Goito threw himself towards the right post 68 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eliseo Mina, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Cristobal Goito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Mina in the 73rd minute of the match. Carabata Groove's Cristobal Goito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luz Tejedor in the 76th minute of play. A collision led to Carabata Groove getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Toninho Santos hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Herbert Pilipiec managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carabata Groove's supporters rose to their feet, but Herbert Pilipiec was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rolando Noboa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Milagros Fraga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Cristobal Goito made a huge save. Eliseo Alcocer was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 92nd minute. Peru's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Cristobal Goito made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Milagros Fraga sent off a good shot on target. Carabata Groove's defense didn't have a chance, in the 96th minute, when Antonio Tenorio scored to the left of an out of position Cristobal Goito, making the score, 3-1.
