Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alexandru Chiriloaie hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Juventus Țiu's Marius Bălașa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute of play. In the 32nd match minute, Juventus Țiu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laurențiu Târban to maneuver through the defense. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Juventus Țiu's Marius Bălașa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 36th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 38th minute of play forced Juventus Țiu's goalkeeper Marius Bălașa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes into the game, Manuel Boteanu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 66 minutes Juventus Țiu's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. A very nice done corner allowed Luis Andino to score against Marius Bălașa in Juventus Țiu's goal. 1-3 after 66 minutes. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
