Costa Rica's goalkeeper was lucky when the ball hit the right post and out. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Braulio Castel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The F.C.BARLAD fans' excitement grew in the 58th match minute when F.C.BARLAD's Nichifor Codruț looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 65 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Alcocer. Efrain Moruga got a throw-in 66 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Eliseo Noboa. In the 70th minute, Nichifor Codruț ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. Axel Tasis took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Niculae Isvoreanu. Niculae Isvoreanu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-1. Nichifor Codruț's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benito Sanz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. After 81 minutes, Nichifor Codruț made it 7-1 with a short kick to the right side. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 86 minutes into the game, Nichifor Codruț cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-1. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Efrain Moruga made in the 89th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by F.C.BARLAD's Eric Pârlea. Nichifor Codruț kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. F.C.BARLAD fully deserved thier win.
