Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gazi Hunalp showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Octavio Odon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Merih Pekinturk charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Merih Pekinturk the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 9 played minutes GAZİKENT FK got a freekick which was hit by Merih Pekinturk. Daniel Zorita was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 9th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After 11 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. 14 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gazi Hunalp narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cemil Oral in the 17th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gazi Hunalp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 18th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 26 minutes into the match, GAZİKENT FK's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Gazi Hunalp reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cemil Oral. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Cristian Sancho hit a great ball. Gazi Hunalp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 39th minute of play. After having played for 46 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Octavio Odon in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Octavio Odon put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. GAZİKENT FK's Gazi Hunalp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 67th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cemil Oral in the 70th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 81 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 86th minute, which Gazi Hunalp however easily saved by the left post. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gazi Hunalp having to interfere. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Octavio Odon, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Gazi Hunalp stood somewhat misplaced when Daniel Zorita came free in front of goal and shot 3-2 to the left of him in the 93 minute. The GAZİKENT FK support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
