José Maria Goiano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Luis Andino got a free kick in the 11th minute. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kalle Billberg in the 16th minute of the match. José Maria Goiano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Poetass FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 18 played minutes, Poetass FC's Jon-Egil Schjelderup shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Julio Vera came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Poetass FC reached it. Poetass FC's José Maria Goiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 20th minute of play. José Maria Goiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Maria Goiano having to interfere. 26 minutes into the game, Witold Bronicki was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Poetass FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 27th match minute, Poetass FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Witold Bronicki to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th minute Zeng Xu Yuan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Kalle Billberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Poetass FC were awarded a corner in the 31th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jon-Egil Schjelderup took the corner. José Maria Goiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute of play. The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when Ecuador's Cristian Sancho looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 42nd minute of play forced Poetass FC's goalkeeper José Maria Goiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Maria Goiano having to interfere. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. The Poetass FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kalle Billberg to make the kick off. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jon-Egil Schjelderup received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Poetass FC's Witalis Brysz was substituted for Kalle Billberg. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jon-Egil Schjelderup in the 89th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
