After having played for 38 minutes, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Berganza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Norbert Balonek came out of the goal and Tomas Berganza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Gabi Gol made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Alex Cambeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 90th minute, Dylan Sarmiento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alex Cambeiro's late challenge caught a Goianésia E.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alex Cambeiro helped the player get up and apologised. After 92 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Alex Cambeiro. In the 95th minute, Attila Kertész made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Goianésia E.C's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
