The mood of the audience was pleasant when Doctor Strange made the kick off which started today's match. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Percy Fernandez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. Gualter Penha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gualter Penha in the 8th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Percy Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 12 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Percy Fernandez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Mariano Lacasa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Percy Fernandez was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. In the 20th minute, Doctor Strange made a precise shot to the right of Thiago Pliego. Chile's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 28th minute of play forced Sport Clube Recife's goalkeeper Percy Fernandez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chile's Thiago Pliego proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Chile from getting a goal against them. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Sport Clube Recife's Pablo Lampard. But to his dismay, Pablo Lampard quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 40th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Percy Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Percy Fernandez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. When Orlando Casaus fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chile's protests and gave Orlando Casaus a yellow card for diving instead. Thiago Pliego was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Knut Söderström.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mariano Lacasa to make the kick off. 57 minutes into the game, Knut Söderström threw the ball into play from the sideline. Chile's Pedro Indiano quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 58th minute Doctor Strange shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st minute, Doctor Strange left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sport Clube Recife fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Percy Fernandez made a huge save. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doctor Strange, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Percy Fernandez came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Chile's Mariano Lacasa. But to his dismay, Mariano Lacasa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Orlando Casaus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doctor Strange in the 79th minute of play. Mariano Lacasa succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-2 in the 81st playminute. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sport Clube Recife's goalkeeper Percy Fernandez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Percy Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 91st minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Doctor Strange came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Sport Clube Recife had played much better football throughout.
