Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Daniel Zorita kicked off to start the match. Ryszard Pilipiec in the 7thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ryszard Pilipiec in the 8th minute of play. In the 11th of the match, Ryszard Pilipiec tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Julio Vera got in the way and made a wonderful save. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Gilbert Podolski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Ryszard Pilipiec sent off a good shot on target. Gilbert Podolski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Gilbert Podolski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 30th minute of play. After having played for 31 minutes, Agustín Saelices managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agustín Saelices was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 32 played minutes Pogoń Stawiszyn got a freekick which was hit by Adam Kaznocha. Antonio Arias kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 37th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilbert Podolski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 41st minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilbert Podolski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ryszard Pilipiec who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 45thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ryszard Pilipiec in the 47th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ryszard Pilipiec stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gilbert Podolski. Cristian Sancho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. Ryszard Pilipiec recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gilbert Podolski came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Luis Andino. But to his dismay, Luis Andino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 58th minute, Juan Sebastián Puig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 61 played minutes Pogoń Stawiszyn got a freekick which was hit by Adam Kaznocha. Gilbert Podolski made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Igor Maruda managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pogoń Stawiszyn's supporters rose to their feet, but Igor Maruda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ryszard Pilipiec received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Pogoń Stawiszyn defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gilbert Podolski. The Pogoń Stawiszyn fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gilbert Podolski should have stopped the shot. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilbert Podolski having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Montenegro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilbert Podolski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 91st minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilbert Podolski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
