In the 6th match minute, São Paulo Leste F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gao Kun Mo to maneuver through the defense. Emerson Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 11th minute of play. Emerson Leão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristian Sancho's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. 23 minutes into the match, Agustín Saelices notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of São Paulo Leste F.C.'s Emerson Leão. Emerson Leão was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Emerson Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Edvard Gråberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. In the 35th minute São Paulo Leste F.C. were awarded a corner. Stanislaw Turacki went to the cornerflag to take it. After a defensive mix-up in São Paulo Leste F.C.'s zone, Agustín Saelices stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emerson Leão came out of the goal and Agustín Saelices tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Sancho kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Ecuador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 42nd minute, when Gao Kun Mo scored to the left of an out of position Julio Vera, making the score, 1-1. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita pulled a muscle in his back after 47 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Paulo Renato Vidal charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Paulo Renato Vidal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ecuador's Luz Palacio was substituted for Daniel Zorita. A collision led to São Paulo Leste F.C. getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Paulo Renato Vidal hit a great ball. São Paulo Leste F.C.'s Emerson Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Montenegro in the 49th minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gao Kun Mo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ernani de Senna hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Emerson Leão made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Felix Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. Emerson Leão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 62nd minute of the match. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edvard Gråberg in the 64th minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Gao Kun Mo came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. São Paulo Leste F.C.'s Emerson Leão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save São Paulo Leste F.C. from getting a goal against them. Emerson Leão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 89 minutes into the match, São Paulo Leste F.C.'s goalkeeper Emerson Leão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. 92 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Stanislaw Turacki was slow to take the kick. During this time São Paulo Leste F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Edvard Gråberg got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edvard Gråberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Ecuador were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing São Paulo Leste F.C. to leave the ground with a draw.
