Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Noa Jannot in the 8th minute. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gauthier Sylla went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Noureddine Pinet, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Costa Rica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 19th minute, when Jens Back scored to the left of an out of position Benito Sanz, making the score, 2-0. After 23rd play minutes Jens Back shot 3-0, a short shot which went by Benito Sanz and just under the crossbar into goal. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jens Back in the 31st minute. Abel Carballo hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Jens Back stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Jens Back tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jens Back in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Noa Jannot scored 4-0 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Flavian Sureau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Jens Back made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Jens Back had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jens Back was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. After a rather tough play, Reyrieux's Noa Jannot got a free kick in the 61st minute. After 64 minutes, Juan Rubio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Reyrieux players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 64th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Rubio to maneuver through the defense. In the 68th minute, Stanislas Patte hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Alexander Carballo hit a great ball. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aaron Alcocer's late challenge caught a Reyrieux's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aaron Alcocer helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Aaron Alcocer got a free kick in the 94th minute. There was no doubt that Reyrieux were the better team. Reyrieux's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
