In the 7th minute, Felix Montenegro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 9 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Clube Atlético Paulista's Aden Couzens. Aden Couzens was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Corbett Alonso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. In the 13th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Aden Couzens. Clube Atlético Paulista's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Aden Couzens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 16th minute of play. After 16 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. The audience was convinced that Rickard Ödman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rickard Ödman in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Rickard Ödman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. In the 20th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aden Couzens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Corbett Alonso came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Clube Atlético Paulista's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Aden Couzens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ecuador's Luis Andino got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Aden Couzens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Aden Couzens made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Montenegro in the 58th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Clube Atlético Paulista's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aden Couzens came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 67 minutes into the match, Clube Atlético Paulista's goalkeeper Aden Couzens had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Aden Couzens quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Augusto Paranaense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rickard Ödman in the 92nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Clube Atlético Paulista booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Primitivo Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Clube Atlético Paulista throughout the match.
