Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Petersson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In a very dangerous position, a player in Costa Rica fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 25th minute. Penalty! After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alexander Carballo got a free kick in the 30th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when George Best came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 32 minutes, Victor Petersson made it 5-0 with a short kick to the right side. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Denver Light kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aaron Alcocer during the 42nd minute. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Denver Light went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. Victor Petersson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 7-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Victor Petersson was the one to do the kick off. When Virtual Aces's Victor Petersson in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Victor Petersson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 10-0. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Petersson, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joseph Danielsson having to interfere. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Petersson in the 82nd minute of play. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Victor Petersson's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Petersson, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. 92 minutes into the match, Victor Petersson notched a goal, 11-0, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 95 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Lautaro Puig.
