Ildefonso Ikatz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moises Fernandino in the 6th minute of play. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Lorenzo Yepes got a free kick in the 7th minute. In the 8th minute of the match Pelle Gabrielsson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ricardo Zorita showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Faraday FC's Wojciech Marciewicz got a free kick in the 9th minute. Faraday FC's Ildefonso Ikatz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moises Fernandino in the 13th minute of play. Ceferino Formerio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Ricardo Zorita made a huge save. In the 17th match minute, Faraday FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Cheche to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mateo Leguizamo in the 17th minute of play forced Faraday FC's goalkeeper Ildefonso Ikatz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Marco Tamayo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Abram Luque got a free kick in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernan Mendez in the 29th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Faraday FC booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentino Ferrant didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in El Salvador's zone, Hernan Mendez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal and Hernan Mendez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 33rd minute, Hernan Mendez made a precise shot to the right of Ricardo Zorita. El Salvador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Arturo Sanson took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Ricardo Zorita to make any attempt to save it. Jorge Magrina's late challenge caught a Faraday FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Magrina helped the player get up and apologised. In the 45th minute, Jorge Magrina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pelle Gabrielsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardo Zorita. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pelle Gabrielsson ran back to his position shaking his head.

The wind increased when Hernan Mendez made the kick off in the second half. Joshua Curbelo kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Pelle Gabrielsson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 54th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ricardo Zorita. El Salvador's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the match clock showed 57 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Ceferino Formerio sped through El Salvador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. Faraday FC's Ceferino Formerio got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the El Salvador defense, 崔邦悦 kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. The El Salvador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Zorita should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernan Mendez in the 68th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 69 minutes into the match, Hernan Mendez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ricardo Zorita. El Salvador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hernan Mendez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. In the 81st minute Hernan Mendez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ricardo Zorita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ceferino Formerio in the 82nd minute of the match.
