With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iker Medina saved TALLERES from getting behind. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. 19 minutes into the match, TALLERES's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Iker Medina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in TALLERES's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iker Medina came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Silverio Medardo made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, TALLERES's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Iker Medina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iker Medina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Silverio Medardo came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the TALLERES fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silverio Medardo couldn't finish the play. Iker Medina was a little too slow when Daniel Zorita got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 86th minute. The score was now 0-3. Ecuador played a much better game than TALLERES and deserved their victory. The TALLERES players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
