Marco Tamayo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matei Rotariu having to interfere. Moises Fernandino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Matei Rotariu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. Abram Luque struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Matei Rotariu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Salvador. El Salvador's Moises Fernandino got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Panait Unciuleanu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 26thth minute, Ricardo Zorita skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Moises Fernandino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Iordache Pârvuță had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Iacob Prisecaru fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Steaua Somcuta MM's protests and gave Iacob Prisecaru a yellow card for diving instead. In the 45th match minute, Steaua Somcuta MM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iacob Prisecaru to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for George Pitiș to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Steaua Somcuta MM booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentino Ferrant didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the El Salvador defense, George Pitiș kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. The El Salvador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Zorita should have stopped the shot. Valentino Ferrant hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Pitiș in the 92nd minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 94th minute of the game. One of El Salvador:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Steaua Somcuta MM:s goal. The referee gave Steaua Somcuta MM a penalty, 95 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Iacob Prisecaru, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita. 3-0. Steaua Somcuta MM's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
