In the 2nd minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michel Finman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luis Andino struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Michel Finman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Michel Finman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. In the 3rd minute, Luis Andino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Michel Finman was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michel Finman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Camilo Gisbert got a free kick in the 11th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Thijs Thys stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Thijs Thys tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Ruda if defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Michel Finman. The Ruda if fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Michel Finman should have stopped the shot. In the 18th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 25 minutes into the match, Ruda if's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Michel Finman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 29 minutes into the match, Ruda if's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Michel Finman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ove Hellqvist made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 32ndth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Julio Vera would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Michel Finman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 34th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 35th minute of play forced Ruda if's goalkeeper Michel Finman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Michel Finman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Michel Finman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Michel Finman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 40 minutes Ruda if's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Michel Finman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Agustín Saelicess short, quick shot in the 53rdth minute got Michel Finman to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 54 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Michel Finman. Ruda if's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luis Andino during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ruda if made a substitution. Staffan Arvidsson replaced Elia Santoro. After having played for 60 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tage Magnusson hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Michel Finman was out of position in the 66 minute of play, and Daniel Zorita capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Daniel Zorita really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Ruda if's Douglas Aspengren got a free kick in the 70th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Ruda if's zone, Felix Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Michel Finman came out of the goal and Felix Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. 80 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Thijs Thys came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita was extremely unlucky when he, in the 82nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 97th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Ruda if fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
