To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Adriano Rodrigues's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adriano Rodrigues in the 59th minute of the match. Xapetuba Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. In the 88th minute, Victor Tróia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 94 minutes into the game, Adriano Rodrigues cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Xapetuba Futebol Clube fully deserved thier win.
