The supporters of Genk booed when Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Garrido didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfons Rijniers kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. 44 minutes into the match, Genk's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Jannes Van Leempoel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Suat Kaya stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Mariano Lacasa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jannes Van Leempoel was relentless in the 79th minute of the game.
