In the 2nd minute, Giovani Urbano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Modesto Bernat scored 1-0 in the 3rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ricardinho Aguiar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Vascão de Guarapari ES's Edgar Varela got a free kick in the 7th minute. After 8 played minutes, POSSE 1911 FC's Modesto Bernat shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ricardinho Aguiar came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in POSSE 1911 FC reached it. If Samuel Matro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 15 minutes into the match, POSSE 1911 FC's goal looked a bit too open when Reynaldo Freitas came free, but Angel Xabel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ricardinho Aguiar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sérgio Aguero, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. 21 minutes into the match, Vascão de Guarapari ES's goal looked a bit too open when Lukas Lundgren came free, but Ricardinho Aguiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Vascão de Guarapari ES's goal looked a bit too open when Sérgio Aguero came free, but Ricardinho Aguiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute, Reynaldo Freitas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute of the match, Lukas Lundgren tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ricardinho Aguiar saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vascão de Guarapari ES's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Modesto Bernat was slow to take the kick. During this time POSSE 1911 FC's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Samuel Matro managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Alfredo Di Marco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Ricardinho Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, Vascão de Guarapari ES's goalkeeper Ricardinho Aguiar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lukas Lundgren. Through an outstanding action, after 37 minutes, Ricardinho Aguiar successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lukas Lundgren in the 38th minute of play forced Vascão de Guarapari ES's goalkeeper Ricardinho Aguiar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ricardinho Aguiar acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 39th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Modesto Bernat. The supporters of POSSE 1911 FC booed when Vascão de Guarapari ES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giovani Urbano didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Vascão de Guarapari ES getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Douglas Ortiz hit a great ball. POSSE 1911 FC's Modesto Bernat shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 43rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Ricardinho Aguiar but with some difficulty. Ricardinho Aguiar came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by POSSE 1911 FC's Sérgio Aguero. But to his dismay, Sérgio Aguero quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Reynaldo Freitas to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Vascão de Guarapari ES's goal looked a bit too open when Lukas Lundgren came free, but Ricardinho Aguiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lukas Lundgren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience was convinced that Lukas Lundgren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ricardinho Aguiar was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. In the 60th minute Sérgio Aguero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardinho Aguiar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Vascão de Guarapari ES defense, Sérgio Aguero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardinho Aguiar. The Vascão de Guarapari ES fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardinho Aguiar should have stopped the shot. When Jean do Nascimento fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vascão de Guarapari ES's protests and gave Jean do Nascimento a yellow card for diving instead. In the 66th match minute, Vascão de Guarapari ES was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean do Nascimento to maneuver through the defense. POSSE 1911 FC's Sérgio Aguero got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sérgio Aguero in the 69th minute of play forced Vascão de Guarapari ES's goalkeeper Ricardinho Aguiar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th minute, Sérgio Aguero left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The POSSE 1911 FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. POSSE 1911 FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Modesto Bernat in the 74th minute. A nice corner shot did that Lukas Lundgren got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ricardinho Aguiar quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Edgar Varela hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Samuel Matro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Ricardinho Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. POSSE 1911 FC's Angel Xabel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save POSSE 1911 FC from getting a goal against them. 89 minutes into the game, Vascão de Guarapari ES's Reynaldo Freitas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Angel Xabel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. Geovanni Neiva's late challenge caught a POSSE 1911 FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Geovanni Neiva helped the player get up and apologised. In the 95thth minute Alfredo Di Marco beautifully dribbled past Vascão de Guarapari ES's defense and it looked for a moment as a certain goal, but Ricardinho Aguiar pulled off a phantom save to prevent the ball from scoring on his left hand side. Sérgio Aguero might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardinho Aguiar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sérgio Aguero ran back to his position shaking his head.
