Mexico's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vista Alegre FC the free kick. Dante Lacasa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dudu Magalhães's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. Dudu Magalhães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dudu Magalhães in the 17th minute of play. Vista Alegre FC were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after Mexico's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Igor Souza took the corner. The corner ended in Igor Souza almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Mexico's Dante Lacasa did a great save. In the game's 19th minute Vista Alegre FC's Igor Souza took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Dante Lacasa and thus the score was 1-0. Robustiano Clementi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robustiano Clementi in the 25th minute. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Robustiano Clementi sent off a good shot on target. Robustiano Clementi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dudu Magalhães in the 33rd minute of play. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dudu Magalhães to make the kick off. The supporters of Mexico booed when Vista Alegre FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Belo Ponta didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 53 minutes of play, Vista Alegre FC's Robustiano Clementi made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dante Lacasa was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Robustiano Clementi in the 58th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Ronaldo de Moraes threw himself towards the right post 60 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ronaldo de Moraes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. When Jordy Hoes fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vista Alegre FC's protests and gave Jordy Hoes a yellow card for diving instead. After 71 played minutes Vista Alegre FC got a freekick which was hit by Jordy Hoes. Vista Alegre FC's Elias Proença was substituted for Jordy Hoes. Vista Alegre FC's Norberto de Azevedo was substituted for Dudu Magalhães. In the 72nd match minute, Vista Alegre FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jordy Hoes to maneuver through the defense. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vista Alegre FC's Elias Proença managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Leonardo Leoz in the 85 minute of the game. In the 87th minute, Elias Proença hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was joyful for the audience to see Joel Gaona dribbling past the opponents defense line in the 88th played minute and put the ball into the net. 2-1. Robustiano Clementi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dante Lacasa having to make a save. Through an outstanding action, after 95 minutes, Ronaldo de Moraes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Vista Alegre FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mexico had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
