The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute Robustiano Clementi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dudu Magalhães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. 9 minutes into the game, Dudu Magalhães lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Dante Lacasa. Ronaldo de Moraes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vista Alegre FC's Jordy Hoes managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Leonardo Leoz in the 32 minute of the game. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robustiano Clementi in the 35th minute of play. Felix Luque kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Dudu Magalhães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ronaldo de Moraes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After having played for 46 minutes, Dudu Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vista Alegre FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dudu Magalhães was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ronaldo de Moraes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldo de Moraes having to interfere. Vista Alegre FC's Norberto de Azevedo was substituted for Dudu Magalhães. Vista Alegre FC's Ronaldo de Moraes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Vista Alegre FC from getting a goal against them. Norberto de Azevedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dante Lacasa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norberto de Azevedo in the 86th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner ended in Alberto Tafalla almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Vista Alegre FC's Ronaldo de Moraes did a great save. When the match clock showed 91 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Alberto Tafalla sped through Vista Alegre FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ronaldo de Moraes.
