The audience was convinced that Kong Xi Guo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. Damaso Urbez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 4th minute of play. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damaso Urbez having to interfere. After some careless play in the Viejo Lobo De Mar defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Damaso Urbez. The Viejo Lobo De Mar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Damaso Urbez should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 13th minute of play forced Viejo Lobo De Mar's goalkeeper Damaso Urbez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Damaso Urbez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves 卓林烨 could shoot a difficult shot in the 22nd minute, which Julio Vera however easily saved by the left post. In the 23rd minute Kong Xi Guo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Codruț Văleanu kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Sancho in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Damaso Urbez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Desiderio Oier's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Desiderio Oier helped the player get up and apologised. In the 33rd minute, a hard, long distance shot from Daniel Zorita hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. 35 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Kong Xi Guo came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rene Laurgain. Damaso Urbez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Damaso Urbez made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Viejo Lobo De Mar made a substitution. Zbyszko Dziewedik replaced Kong Xi Guo. Viejo Lobo De Mar's Javier Zanetti was substituted for Codruț Văleanu. Severino Natanael sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Viejo Lobo De Mar's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Damaso Urbez came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Felix Montenegro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 71stth minute tested the skills of Damaso Urbez when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Damaso Urbez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 74th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Damaso Urbez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zbyszko Dziewedik in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Damaso Urbez. Damaso Urbez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zbyszko Dziewedik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 88 minutes Viejo Lobo De Mar's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Damaso Urbez quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Severino Natanael struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Viejo Lobo De Mar. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the match, Viejo Lobo De Mar's goalkeeper Damaso Urbez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Viejo Lobo De Mar.
