With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vasco Olarticoechea in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristian Mergildo saved C.A. LANUS from getting behind. You Jing Jun stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adamantios Geronimidis's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Domselaar's goal looked a bit too open when Adamantios Geronimidis came free, but You Jing Jun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th minute Vasco Olarticoechea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Mergildo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vasco Olarticoechea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of C.A. LANUS booed when Domselaar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Jon didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee showed Salvador Gelacio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 75 minutes into the match, Domselaar's goal looked a bit too open when José Serrizuela came free, but You Jing Jun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
