In the 2nd minute, Bingen Campos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 5 minutes into the match, A.D. Alcorcón's goal looked a bit too open when Elpidio Francis came free, but Maurino Serena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 9th match minute, A.D. Alcorcón was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manolo Bacete to maneuver through the defense. 11 minutes into the match, Elpidio Francis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Maurino Serena. A.D. Alcorcón's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Elpidio Francis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Maurino Serena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elpidio Francis, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. After having played for 16 minutes, Manolo Bacete managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A.D. Alcorcón's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manolo Bacete was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the A.D. Alcorcón defense, Elpidio Francis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Maurino Serena. The A.D. Alcorcón fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maurino Serena should have stopped the shot. When Elpidio Francis came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elpidio Francis couldn't finish the play. Manolo Bacete could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Branislav Velchevski made a huge save. After a rather tough play, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Arnoldo Cordero got a free kick in the 30th minute. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusebio Quijana in the 35th minute of play. After 35 played minutes ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA got a freekick which was hit by Olle Snell. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manolo Bacete got free with Branislav Velchevski in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 43 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Elpidio Francis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Maurino Serena narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 47th minute, Elpidio Francis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Belo Alvarez to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Belo Alvarez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Branislav Velchevski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 54th minute of the game. One of A.D. Alcorcón:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA:s goal. Maurino Serena had in the 57thth minute some difficulties stopping Elpidio Francis's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. A.D. Alcorcón made a substitution. Eriz Acha replaced Natxo Cacheres. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's André Monclús was substituted for Elpidio Francis. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Aristides Asteri was substituted for Arnaldo Gabon. A throw-in in the 63rd minute of the game was made by Bonifacio Suarez with André Monclús as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After 68 played minutes A.D. Alcorcón got a freekick which was hit by Esteban Vadillos. 72 minutes into the match, André Monclús had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Maurino Serena. A.D. After 77 minutes of play, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's André Monclús made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Maurino Serena was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bonifacio Suarez made in the 82nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by A.D. Alcorcón's Bingen Campos. Maurino Serena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Monclús in the 84th minute of play. After 86 played minutes A.D. Alcorcón got a freekick which was hit by Leroy Antunez. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, André Monclús managed to get in a good position for a shot. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's supporters rose to their feet, but André Monclús was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maurino Serena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Monclús in the 89th minute of play forced A.D. Alcorcón's goalkeeper Maurino Serena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 89 minutes of play, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's André Monclús made it 1-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Maurino Serena was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of A.D. Alcorcón booed when ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bonifacio Suarez didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Zacarias Osorio got a free kick in the 97th minute. After 100 minutes ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Leroy Antunez who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on A.D. Alcorcón's corner Leroy Antunez fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Branislav Velchevski quite easily take care of the ball. The ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
