Elvijs Presley's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dante Lacasa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Roby Baggio in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. Malmö White Knights's Evert Taube was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dante Lacasa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Johnny Banks showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 6th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Tafalla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Johnny Banks breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. Di Feng Zheng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. 31 minutes into the match, Malmö White Knights's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Johnny Banks reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. Lautaro Mancebo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Elvijs Presley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. The Malmö White Knights fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. Johnny Banks didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alberto Tafalla went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-3 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Johnny Banks in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Malmö White Knights getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Olívio Meireles hit a great ball. Mexico's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
