Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Nickolai Nickerson started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Soned saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Radu Fetea to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 10th minute of play forced Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's goalkeeper Eric Soned to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Camilo Gisbert made in the 13th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Luis Andino immediately put the ball in play. 13 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eric Soned made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 18th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Soned saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eric Soned came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Nickolai Nickerson might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nickolai Nickerson ran back to his position shaking his head. 21 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Nickolai Nickerson came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nickolai Nickerson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. In the 27th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Eric Soned. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. 33 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eric Soned narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Radu Fetea hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Jim Njurenius hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

Étoile Sportive Du Sahel made a substitution. Per-Arne Gunnarsson replaced Rei Bolas. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the game, Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Nickolai Nickerson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. 58 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Étoile Sportive Du Sahel the free kick. The supporters of Étoile Sportive Du Sahel booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eric Soned showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 60th minute of the match. Luis Andino hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Valentin Elg was substituted for Radu Fetea. Luis Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nickolai Nickerson in the 68th minute of play. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlo Ancelotti in the 78th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlo Ancelotti in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eric Soned made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 90th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nickolai Nickerson in the 93rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nickolai Nickerson, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
