Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 8th minute of play forced AA GUARULHOS's goalkeeper Carlinhos Freitas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Remigio Finlay sent off a good shot on target. After 27 minutes, Daniel Zorita made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. AA GUARULHOS's Carlinhos Freitas tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 33rd minute of play forced AA GUARULHOS's goalkeeper Carlinhos Freitas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 45th match minute, AA GUARULHOS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nilton Ramalho to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlinhos Freitas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Remigio Finlay stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Carlinhos Freitas. Cristian Sancho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-2. 56 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Carlinhos Freitas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Carlinhos Freitas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 63 played minutes AA GUARULHOS got a freekick which was hit by Owen Ramsden. Carlinhos Freitas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 64th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Lance Cabezas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Lance Cabezas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 71st minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Camilo Gisbert made in the 72nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by AA GUARULHOS's Aleksejs Vērīgais. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Carlinhos Freitas made a huge save. Lance Cabezas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lance Cabezas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. Jacobo Porfirio made a great header on AA GUARULHOS's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Remigio Finlay in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. AA GUARULHOS's Carlinhos Freitas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save AA GUARULHOS from getting a goal against them. Carlinhos Freitas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 85th minute of play. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Carlinhos Freitas made a huge save. In the 89th minute, Jacobo Porfirio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. AA GUARULHOS succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Ecuador had controlled the match.
