In the 6th minute Cris Batistuta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nixon Richard scored 1-0 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Manzanares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 10 minutes into the match, Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nixon Richard. In the 21st match minute, Barões F. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marquinhos Porto to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 22 minutes, Axel Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colombia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Axel Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pedro Manzanares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nixon Richard in the 26th minute. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Paulo Queirós in the 28th minute of play. Júlio Baiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santino Seco in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 34thth minute of the game Abram Sarmiento who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Barões F. C.'s Júlio Baiano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A throw-in in the 37th minute of the game was made by Laurencio Vidal with Pedro Paulo Queirós as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Paulo Queirós in the 39th minute of play. Barões F. C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Donato Paraibano in the 41st minute. 44 minutes into the match, Barões F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Abram Sarmiento came free, but Júlio Baiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santino Seco in the 45th minute of play forced Barões F. C.'s goalkeeper Júlio Baiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donato Paraibano, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

Barões F. C.'s Júlio Baiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santino Seco in the 53rd minute of play. With a little luck, Barões F. C.'s Júlio Baiano got control of the ball when Axel Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pedro Manzanares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nixon Richard's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. 66 minutes into the game, Barões F. C.'s Luiz Fábio Souto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Manzanares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. The Barões F. C. fans' excitement grew in the 70th match minute when Barões F. C.'s Nixon Richard looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Barões F. C.'s Luisito Pistolelis was substituted for Luiz Fábio Souto. Júlio Baiano made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Ignacio Mastache sent off a good shot on target. Júlio Baiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abram Secada, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Donato Paraibano might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Manzanares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Donato Paraibano ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nixon Richard in the 94th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Barões F. C. walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
