After a rather tough play, Bucéfalo FC's Romário Passos got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 4th minute, Sebastian Villa made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Luís Montenegro. Bucéfalo FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 9th minute of play forced Bucéfalo FC's goalkeeper Pedro Luís Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Bucéfalo FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Luís Montenegro should have stopped the shot. Pedro Luís Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 33rd minute of play. A throw-in in the 34th minute of the game was made by Thomás Freitas with João Vítor Nogueira as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. A collision led to Bucéfalo FC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Marquinhos Pitta hit a great ball. Edmundo Espiga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Bucéfalo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Villa came free, but Pedro Luís Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edmundo Espiga to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Bucéfalo FC's Thomás Freitas got a free kick in the 53rd minute. 54 minutes into the match, Bucéfalo FC's goalkeeper Pedro Luís Montenegro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sebastian Villa. Pedro Luís Montenegro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedro Luís Montenegro was out of position in the 57 minute of play, and Moises Tafalla capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Moises Tafalla really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. In the 60thth minute of the game Tico Mole who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Honduras's Lautaro Navarro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marquinhos Pitta during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 67th match minute, Bucéfalo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marquinhos Pitta to maneuver through the defense. Edgard Costa's late challenge caught a Honduras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edgard Costa helped the player get up and apologised. After 70 played minutes Bucéfalo FC got a freekick which was hit by Edgard Costa. Bucéfalo FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 71st minute, when Sebastian Villa scored to the left of an out of position Pedro Luís Montenegro, making the score, 0-6. A collision led to Bucéfalo FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Tico Mole hit a great ball. In the 74th minute, Sebastian Villa made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Luís Montenegro. Bucéfalo FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-7. Bucéfalo FC's Antônio Ceresso was substituted for Mazinho Damião. In the 89th minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Luís Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tico Mole in the 91st minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute, Honduras's Sebastian Villa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Pedro Luís Montenegro. Pedro Luís Montenegro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-8. Honduras played a much better game than Bucéfalo FC and deserved their victory. The Bucéfalo FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
