With an extended leg and a bit of luck Válter Tasso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 20th minute of the match USA got a corner. forsal FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cassius Byrne ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Cassius Byrne almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but forsal FC's Válter Tasso did a great save. After a rather tough play, forsal FC's Christian Fabiani got a free kick in the 22nd minute. After 24 minutes forsal FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Attilio Pani to make the kick off.
