In the 12th match minute, Paraguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaime Pardo to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Jaime Pardo got a free kick in the 18th minute. Noel Peixoto came free with the goalkeeper in the 19th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jacobo Nores could save by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Sords Team's zone, Jaime Pardo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Durval Miranda came out of the goal and Jaime Pardo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 22 minutes into the game, Torcato Meira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sords Team's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paraguay the free kick. Torcato Meira hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Noel Peixoto came free with the goalkeeper in the 28th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jacobo Nores could save by the left post. Noel Peixoto received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jacobo Nores came out and tried to block the shot, but Noel Peixoto slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 30th minute. Durval Miranda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hector Covarrubias in the 38th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, Paraguay's Jaime Pardo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Durval Miranda narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 43 minutes into the match, Sords Team's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Pardo came free, but Durval Miranda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jaime Pardo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alan Campos hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Noel Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobo Nores having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ricardo Salazar during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 61st minute, Rafael Raposo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rd minute, Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Durval Miranda. Durval Miranda yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Noel Peixoto in the 67th minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Noel Peixoto in the 68th minute of play. Rafael Raposo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. During the 79th minute of the match Torcato Meira completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Torcato Meira a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 80th match minute, Sords Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Torcato Meira to maneuver through the defense. Juan Diego Tenorio made in the 83rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Hector Covarrubias immediately put the ball in play. Paraguay's attentive Raul Venegas managed to snatch the ball when Cristiano Trindade made a throw-in in the 85th minute of the game. Armindo Silva's late challenge caught a Paraguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Armindo Silva helped the player get up and apologised. Armindo Silva kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. A throw-in in the 89th minute of the game was made by Jose Sanz with Hector Covarrubias as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Sords Team succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Paraguay had controlled the match.
