Ecuador were furious when Felix Montes was red carded, 3 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ecuador fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 2nd minute. Penalty! After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Luis Andino got a free kick in the 10th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wilfredo León got free with Julio Vera in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after White Star Troopers's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Zbigniew Laba quite easily take care of the ball. The supporters of Ecuador booed when White Star Troopers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adam Proca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartosz Bentkowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, White Star Troopers's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 25 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Adam Proca, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. White Star Troopers's Zbigniew Laba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 29th minute of play. After some careless play in the White Star Troopers defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zbigniew Laba. The White Star Troopers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zbigniew Laba should have stopped the shot. In the 35th minute White Star Troopers were awarded a corner. Szymon Labus went to the cornerflag to take it. Cristian Sancho scored 0-2 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zbigniew Laba, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Wilfredo León tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sancho Andres hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The supporters of Ecuador booed when White Star Troopers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilfredo León didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adam Proca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Wilfredo León had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 55th minute Adam Proca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Zbigniew Laba made a huge save. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilfredo León, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 70th minute of play forced White Star Troopers's goalkeeper Zbigniew Laba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antonio Arias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zbigniew Laba read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. After 74 minutes White Star Troopers's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. When Adam Proca came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the White Star Troopers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adam Proca couldn't finish the play. In the 79th minute, Antonio Arias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 80th minute of the match Szymon Labus sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Szymon Labus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
