In the 33rd minute, Jonathan Alphonse got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Haiti's Jonathan Alphonse in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Claes Magnusson came out of the goal and Gesner Philippe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joakim Björklund to make the kick off. Jonathan Alphonse could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Claes Magnusson made a huge save. A collision led to West ham united getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Jan-Åke Johnsson hit a great ball. A hard shot 60 in the game by Jonathan Alphonse from a close distance when the talented Claes Magnusson managed to make a qualified save. West ham united's players were relieved. Philippe Ambroise sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 76th match minute, West ham united was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan-Åke Johnsson to maneuver through the defense. Noel Seide showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan-Åke Svensson in the 78th minute of the match. Leonard Zander made in the 80th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Haiti's Felix Dorval. If Boris Brun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Noel Seide was left in no man's land by his defense there! West ham united's Jan-Åke Svensson got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The West ham united fans cheered their team off the field, for while Haiti had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
