Emilian Feteanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 4th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Politehnica Iasi's Jan Trzenzalski slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Julio Vera. That made the score 1-0 after 8 minutes of play. In the 11th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Emilian Feteanu. Politehnica Iasi's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Emilian Feteanu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorginho Queiroz in the 21st minute of play. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 24th minute after Politehnica Iasi's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. 32 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Emilian Feteanu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Jorginho Queiroz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Tiberiu Dulgherescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 42 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Juan Sebastián Puig. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan Trzenzalski in the 43rd minute of the match. In the 44th minute, Iurie Trişcu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 46 minutes into the match, Politehnica Iasi's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Emilian Feteanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. After 50 played minutes Politehnica Iasi got a freekick which was hit by Tiberiu Dulgherescu. After 51 played minutes Politehnica Iasi got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Plopeanu. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Emilian Feteanu in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Politehnica Iasi getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Fabian Plopeanu hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emilian Feteanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Politehnica Iasi's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Ecuador's Luis Andino getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Jorginho Queiroz's long shot made the audience stand up and applaude when it rumbled by Julio Vera on his right side and into the goal. 68 minutes into the game it was 2-3. Emilian Feteanu made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. 77 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Luis Andino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Emilian Feteanu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4. In the 81stth minute of the game Jan Trzenzalski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 85th minute Tiberiu Dulgherescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emilian Feteanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan Trzenzalski in the 95th minute of play. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Politehnica Iasi throughout the match.
