Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Apolo Esiquio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. 27 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pablo Solchaga. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domenico Tellini in the 29th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th match minute, All Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiburcio Bitxintxo to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Pablo Solchaga tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Venezuela booed when All Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jason Statham didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Apolo Esiquio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute, Apolo Esiquio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. During the 53rd minute of the match Tiburcio Bitxintxo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Tiburcio Bitxintxo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. All Boys made a substitution. Carlos Soto replaced Pablo Solchaga. After 54 played minutes All Boys got a freekick which was hit by Tiburcio Bitxintxo. In the 56th minute, Domenico Tellini got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Domenico Tellini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Domenico Tellini kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 70 played minutes All Boys got a freekick which was hit by Albin Pettersson. After having played for 73 minutes, Apolo Esiquio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. All Boys's supporters crossed their fingers, but Apolo Esiquio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All Boys made a substitution. Maximo Benvide replaced Apolo Esiquio. With an all-out effort, Venezuela's Luizinho de Queirós threw himself towards the right post 86 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Patricio Costa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 88th minute Adan Platon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adan Platon, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Maximo Benvide sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When All Boys's Adan Platon in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal.
