Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Colombia's Abram Sarmiento started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabian Zăreanu in the 3rd minute of the match. 6 minutes into the game, Pascual Carballar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Colombia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Champions Iasi the free kick. After 6 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Pascual Carballar. In the 8th match minute, Colombia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abram Sarmiento to maneuver through the defense. Pedro Manzanares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fabian Zăreanu's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. 11 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Fabian Zăreanu came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro Manzanares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Waldemar Gierlach in the 13th minute. Champions Iasi's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Stefan Pieters in the 14th minute. A nice corner shot did that Stefan Pieters got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Pedro Manzanares quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Zăreanu in the 16th minute of play. Fabian Zăreanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Pedro Manzanares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A throw-in in the 26th minute of the game was made by Harri Takavirta with Denis Aurelianu as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabian Zăreanu in the 28th minute of play. Pedro Manzanares made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Waldemar Gierlach sent off a good shot on target. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Romero in the 37th minute of play. In the 38th minute Abram Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rouven Nussli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Champions Iasi's Pedro Manzanares threw himself towards the right post 39 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fabian Zăreanu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Champions Iasi's Waldemar Gierlach got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Champions Iasi's Rouven Nussli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Montenegro in the 41st minute of play. Rouven Nussli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute.
The wind increased when Waldemar Gierlach made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Axel Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colombia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Axel Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Axel Montenegro did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Rouven Nussli 54 minutes into the match. Stefan Pieters received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Pedro Manzanares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Colombia's Abram Secada was substituted for Axel Montenegro. 72 minutes into the game, Harri Takavirta threw the ball into play from the sideline. Colombia's Abram Secada quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 74 minutes into the game, Ignacio Mastache cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Rouven Nussli was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Champions Iasi's Fabian Zăreanu in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Colombia's goalie prevented a goal. In the 78th minute Champions Iasi were awarded a corner. Stefan Pieters went to the cornerflag to take it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Waldemar Gierlach in the 84th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Champions Iasi's Rouven Nussli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Champions Iasi from getting a goal against them. With an all-out effort, Colombia's Rouven Nussli threw himself towards the right post 89 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ignacio Mastache, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 93 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Waldemar Gierlach came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 96 minutes into the match, Colombia's Ignacio Mastache sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rouven Nussli narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Colombia supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Colombia would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
