Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Glenn Ottaway went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. 18 minutes into the game, Thijs Wijgaert was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CA Brasileiros Juniors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costa Rica the free kick. In the 18th minute, Thijs Wijgaert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 minutes into the match, CA Brasileiros Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Noboa came free, but Luís Fernando Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of CA Brasileiros Juniors booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. The audience thought a goal was coming when Glenn Ottaway got free with Benito Sanz in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by CA Brasileiros Juniors's Glenn Ottaway. But to his dismay, Glenn Ottaway quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 6-0.

The wind increased when Axel Tasis made the kick off in the second half. CA Brasileiros Juniors's Mazinho Gol got a good chance for a goal in the 50th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdo Paes, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Mazinho Gol kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glenn Ottaway, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lautaro Puig could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Luís Fernando Amaral made a huge save. 66 minutes had been played when some careless play by Costa Rica's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rubens Proença was slow to take the kick. During this time CA Brasileiros Juniors's players had a chance to rest. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Thijs Wijgaert advanced and headed the ball into goal, 8-0 in the 67th minute. If Glenn Ottaway had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. CA Brasileiros Juniors's Fellipe Loyola was substituted for Mazinho Gol. 80 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Fellipe Loyola came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 9-0. 95 minutes into the game, David Leite cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 10-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. CA Brasileiros Juniors fully deserved thier win.
