Joel Gaona started the match with the kick off. Alberto Tafalla might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Olo Kahn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alberto Tafalla ran back to his position shaking his head. Alberto Tafalla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olo Kahn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. C.D. Ciudad de Soria's Olo Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 5th minute of play. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arrosko Rojas in the 13th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mexico's defense didn't have a chance, in the 18th minute, when Teodoro Zamora scored to the left of an out of position Dante Lacasa, making the score, 1-0. C.D. Ciudad de Soria's Olo Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 24th minute of play. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 25th minute after C.D. Ciudad de Soria's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Luca Rouco fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Olo Kahn quite easily take care of the ball. Olo Kahn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alberto Tafalla's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. In the 28th minute of the match C.D. Ciudad de Soria got a corner. Mexico's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Arrosko Rojas ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 30th minute, Alberto Tafalla made a precise shot to the right of Olo Kahn. C.D. Ciudad de Soria's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 36th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olo Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 43 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eron Patiño. 47 minutes into the match, C.D. Ciudad de Soria's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Olo Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arrosko Rojas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Diego Gandia during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 51st minute, Diego Gandia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arrosko Rojas in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dante Lacasa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 69 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Berriotxoa came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 73 minutes into the match, Martin Berriotxoa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Martin Berriotxoa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Alberto Tafalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Olo Kahn made a huge save. The supporters of Mexico booed when C.D. Ciudad de Soria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eron Patiño didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Mexico's Joel Gaona sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Olo Kahn narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alberto Tafalla struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Olo Kahn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 89th minute of play forced C.D. Ciudad de Soria's goalkeeper Olo Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute, Eron Patiño hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. C.D. Ciudad de Soria were victorious despite being under pressure from Mexico for much of the match.
