Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Tomas Illescas kicked off to start the match. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xavier Sabrosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 10 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hugo Lucian. 11 minutes into the match, Xavier Sabrosa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Xavier Sabrosa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. When Luís Paulo Faria came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Caldebrazza fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Paulo Faria couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 22nd minute of play forced Caldebrazza's goalkeeper Alessandro Linares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Caldebrazza's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Alessandro Linares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alessandro Linares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hugo Lucian in the 36th minute. 42 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pedro Paulo de Senna. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Xavier Sabrosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Xavier Sabrosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hugo Lucian to make the kick off. Zé Roberto Moreno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Lucian, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. If Hugo Lucian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alessandro Linares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 60th minute of the match, Tomas Illescas got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alessandro Linares was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Tomas Illescas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 61stth minute, Alessandro Linares skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 62nd minute of the match Venezuela got a corner. Caldebrazza's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Illescas ran over to the corner to take the kick. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Xavier Sabrosa put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Alessandro Linares in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xavier Sabrosa in the 78th minute of the match. Anísio Neiva hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Zé Roberto Moreno kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Alessandro Linares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caldebrazza walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
