Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Florencio Ferran got the match started through his kick off. In the 30thth minute of the game Felix Montenegro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Húsares's Fabio Quintyn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Fabio Quintyn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Florencio Ferran's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. In the 45th minute of the match Húsares got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ubaldo Kismi ran over to the corner to take the kick. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florencio Ferran in the 51st minute of play. The supporters of Húsares booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position.
