Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joonatan De Vlaeminck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 10th minute of the match. Sleepy Soldiers FC's Léo Zanette managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Primitivo Andino in the 12 minute of the game. Daniel Zorita scored 0-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joonatan De Vlaeminck, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 18th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joonatan De Vlaeminck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 21 minutes Sleepy Soldiers FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Sleepy Soldiers FC's goalie and right to Agustín Saelices. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Sleepy Soldiers FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joonatan De Vlaeminck having to make a save. Sleepy Soldiers FC's Joonatan De Vlaeminck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 29th minute of play. 38 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Joonatan De Vlaeminck was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Frits Cromefeldt hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. When Andres Oper came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Sleepy Soldiers FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andres Oper couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Sleepy Soldiers FC's Octavio Ordono got a free kick in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andres Oper was the one to do the kick off. Léo Zanette hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andres Oper in the 53rd minute of the match. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Joonatan De Vlaeminck made a huge save. In the 56th minute, Andres Oper made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Agustín Saelices blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joonatan De Vlaeminck having to make a save. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 61st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Joonatan De Vlaeminck could save by the left post. Joonatan De Vlaeminck made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 65th minute. In the 67th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Primitivo Andino to maneuver through the defense. Andres Oper sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andres Oper in the 71st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Joonatan De Vlaeminck in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Joonatan De Vlaeminck came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Juan Sebastián Puig. But to his dismay, Juan Sebastián Puig quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great ball. 80 minutes into the match, Sleepy Soldiers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Joonatan De Vlaeminck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sleepy Soldiers FC's goalkeeper Joonatan De Vlaeminck, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 85th minute, Léo Zanette hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Sleepy Soldiers FC's Joonatan De Vlaeminck got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andres Oper, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Andres Oper received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador played a much better game than Sleepy Soldiers FC and deserved their victory. The Sleepy Soldiers FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
