After a rather tough play, USA's Zach Harrison got a free kick in the 12th minute. Petros Mirtsos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Marco Day tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassius Byrne in the 15th minute of play forced ΠΑΟΚ FC's goalkeeper Ingvar Nykvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 23rd play minutes Santiago Silva shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Marco Day and just under the crossbar into goal. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmondo Del Monte, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Ingvar Nykvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cassius Byrne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute, Santiago Silva left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ΠΑΟΚ FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santiago Silva in the 36th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Petros Mirtsos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind ΠΑΟΚ FC's goalkeeper Ingvar Nykvist, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Petros Mirtsos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Santiago Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Day having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty Rogers in the 45th minute of play forced ΠΑΟΚ FC's goalkeeper Ingvar Nykvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Santiago Gentiletti fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ΠΑΟΚ FC's protests and gave Santiago Gentiletti a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to ΠΑΟΚ FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Santiago Gentiletti hit a great ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cassius Byrne made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when Baldovino Argos came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 58th minute, Monty Rogers made a precise shot to the right of Ingvar Nykvist. ΠΑΟΚ FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. ΠΑΟΚ FC's Zheng Yang Zhen was substituted for Vassilis Bitsikas. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zheng Yang Zhen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 68 minutes into the match, ΠΑΟΚ FC's Zheng Yang Zhen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marco Day narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmondo Del Monte in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marco Day saved USA from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Edmondo Del Monte put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Marco Day. ΠΑΟΚ FC's Thanasis Kanavos was substituted for Gustav Kock. 79 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when Santiago Silva came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Santiago Silva in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marco Day prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sotiris Zacharakis in the 87th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petros Mirtsos in the 88th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 90 minutes had been played when some careless play by USA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Baldovino Argos was slow to take the kick. During this time ΠΑΟΚ FC's players had a chance to rest. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sam Campbell got free with Ingvar Nykvist in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, ΠΑΟΚ FC's Cristo Rolado got a free kick in the 94th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, ΠΑΟΚ FC could leave the field as winners, despite USA having more of the ball for most of the match.
