In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Talenti Roma Calcio's goalkeeper Christophe Rau, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ecuador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when Jeremias Mark scored to the left of an out of position Julio Vera, making the score, 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeremias Mark in the 31st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Christophe Rau having to make a save. Christophe Rau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute of play. Christophe Rau didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jeremias Mark to strike the kick off in the second half. But to his dismay, Jeremias Mark quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-5. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 70th minute after Talenti Roma Calcio's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Christophe Rau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeremias Mark blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save.
