Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Miguel Ángel Gambier kicked off to start the match. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Miguel Ángel Gambier sent off a good shot on target. The corner ended in Fabian Bernaldo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. In the 8th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 12th minute of play forced Academia de Campeones's goalkeeper Rodolfo Calvet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rodolfo Calvet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 16 minutes Academia de Campeones's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rodolfo Calvet quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After having played for 20 minutes, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Andino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rodolfo Calvet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Miguel Ángel Gambier kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Rodolfo Calvet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Kermit Froggaard tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 47th minute Academia de Campeones were awarded a corner. Fabian Bernaldo went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Academia de Campeones's corner Fabian Bernaldo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Ángel Gambier in the 50th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodolfo Calvet having to interfere. In the 57th minute, Denis Blasco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rodolfo Calvet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 58th minute of the match. In the 59th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. With an all-out effort, Ecuador's Rodolfo Calvet threw himself towards the right post 61 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cristian Sancho, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 62 minutes Academia de Campeones's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Academia de Campeones's goalie and right to Agustín Saelices. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Academia de Campeones's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. With a little luck, Academia de Campeones's Rodolfo Calvet got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Camilo Gisbert's late challenge caught a Academia de Campeones's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Camilo Gisbert helped the player get up and apologised. In the 65th minute, Camilo Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Ángel Gambier in the 69th minute of the match. In the 70th minute Kai Havertz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Ángel Gambier in the 75th minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Academia de Campeones was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kai Havertz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 81 minutes Academia de Campeones's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodolfo Calvet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
