Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Moritz Riemer took the kick off in the first half of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 3 minutes, Benito Sanz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Hugo Ferrant's late challenge caught a THB Herrenalb's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hugo Ferrant helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of THB Herrenalb booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Ferrant didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 23 played minutes THB Herrenalb got a freekick which was hit by Jürgen Gillen. Efrain Moruga hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, THB Herrenalb's Jürgen Gillen got a free kick in the 28th minute. Alexander Carballo kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. THB Herrenalb's Heinz Schultheiss shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 33rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Benito Sanz but with some difficulty. 37 minutes into the game, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Iso Spieß made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. THB Herrenalb's Heinz Schultheiss managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Hugo Ferrant in the 40 minute of the game. Abel Carballo charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abel Carballo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

THB Herrenalb's Lutz Holtzmann was substituted for Moritz Riemer. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Axel Tasis to make the kick off. Iso Spieß didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Axel Tasis went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. In the 59th minute, Philipp Kienzle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Axel Tasis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Aaron Alcocer hit a great ball. Raik Wistuba kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. THB Herrenalb's Arne Stern was substituted for Ignatius Tilmann. After 79 played minutes THB Herrenalb got a freekick which was hit by Raik Wistuba. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lutz Holtzmann went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lutz Holtzmann in the 87th minute of play. Arne Stern took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Lautaro Puig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Juan Rubio fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Juan Rubio a yellow card for diving instead. 96 minutes into the match, Lutz Holtzmann notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
