In the 8th minute, one of Ad Astra Per Aspera:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ad Astra Per Aspera. Tomas Illescas shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Maximo Lehen sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Sixten Blanck stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Sixten Blanck tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sixten Blanck in the 27th minute of play. After 29 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Oxarra in the 43rd minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Ad Astra Per Aspera's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Dionisio Etxepare reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th minute, Camilo Gaos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. The supporters of Ad Astra Per Aspera booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sixten Blanck, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Dionisio Etxepare came out of the goal and Patricio Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 85 minutes of play, Ad Astra Per Aspera's Maximo Lehen made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximo Lehen, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Oxarra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Oxarra in the 96th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dionisio Etxepare read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. Ad Astra Per Aspera's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
