Gabrijel Jovanovski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 11th minute of the match. Thiago Pliego was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mariano Lacasa might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gabrijel Jovanovski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mariano Lacasa ran back to his position shaking his head. Gabrijel Jovanovski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Lipovljani made a substitution. Egon Škare replaced Valter Vidulić. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mariano Lacasa to make the kick off. In the 54th match minute, Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Casaus to maneuver through the defense. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Gabrijel Jovanovski made a huge save. Chile's Mariano Lacasa got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gabrijel Jovanovski was a little too slow when Mariano Lacasa got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 2-1. In the 73rd minute, Mariano Lacasa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gabrijel Jovanovski was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. A collision led to Lipovljani getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Jadranko Mamlić hit a great ball. 84 minutes into the game, Cvjetko Štokić cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Thiago Pliego was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, Lipovljani's Gabrijel Jovanovski got control of the ball when Mariano Lacasa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lipovljani succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Chile had controlled the match.
