Carsten Bjørnsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamin Duffus in the 7th minute of play. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thor Brask went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 12 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thor Brask. Alexander Carballo hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. After 15 played minutes William Ayres shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Costa Rica's Benito Sanz to catch but William Ayres was lucky. It became 2-0 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. When Efrain Moruga fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Efrain Moruga a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Efrain Moruga got a free kick in the 19th minute. Benjamin Duffus had several of the Costa Rica's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 21 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-0 score and a disappointed Benito Sanz as he didn't even see the shot coming. 24 minutes into the game, Abel Carballo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Clitasaurus the free kick. After 25 minutes of play, FC Clitasaurus's Thor Brask made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thor Brask fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Clitasaurus's Fabrizio Bozzelli. But to his dismay, Fabrizio Bozzelli quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Thor Brask could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. Benito Sanz was out of position in the 43 minute of play, and Lee Donillson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Lee Donillson really showed his touch with that goal: 6-0. When Benjamin Duffus came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the FC Clitasaurus fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjamin Duffus couldn't finish the play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Axel Tasis made a kick off. Axel Tasis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Jason Clayton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benjamin Duffus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabrizio Bozzelli in the 66th minute of play. Lee Donillson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damian Bambas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lee Donillson, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Eliseo Noboa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jason Clayton came out and tried to block the shot, but Eliseo Noboa slotted it home off the left post making it 8-1 in the 82nd minute. Benjamin Duffus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. 88 minutes into the match, Benjamin Duffus had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Benjamin Duffus was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 9-1. After having played for 92 minutes, Lee Donillson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Clitasaurus's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lee Donillson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 95th minute, Alexander Carballo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Benjamin Duffus kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. FC Clitasaurus walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
